Conditions of Entry

Prohibited items

The following items are not permitted in the event 

  • Illegal substances, including controlled, dangerous or illicit drugs
  • Incendiary devices, including flares, fireworks and smoke bombs
  • Firearms and explosives, chemical, radioactive or biological substances
  • Laser lights
  • Alcohol
  • Animals (other than assistance dogs)
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades/skatesi
  • Professional cameras, audio recording devices, or video cameras
  • Cameras: tripods or detachable lenses
  • Glass (including bottles)
  • Unauthorised advertising material or flyers
  • Any large item that cannot be stored by the attendee
  • Any other item that in the opinion of LAN Downunder management, could cause harm or public nuisance.

Bag Restrictions

For the LAN Downunder event, any bag that cannot be stored by the attendee (e.g. at the player’s assigned computer) are not permitted.

If you have specific requirements where a larger bag may be necessary, please contact staff prior to the event day.

Alcohol 

Fortress Melbourne is a licensed venue. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please observe the following: 

  • Responsible Consumption: Please drink responsibly and within your limits.
  • Valid ID: All patrons must present a valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) upon request to verify their age.
  • No Outside Alcohol: Bringing alcoholic beverages from outside the venue is strictly prohibited.
  • No Service to Minors: It is illegal to serve or supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.
  • Intoxication: Management reserves the right to refuse entry or service to anyone who appears intoxicated.
  • Respectful Behavior: Please be respectful of other patrons and staff at all times.

Smoking

Smoking and/or vaping is not permitted within the LAN Downunder event venue, or within 10m of the venue entrance.

Please be aware that upon re-entry you may be required to show your ticket/wristband.

Tickets

Tickets, mobile or hard-copy; must be retained at all times.

Any tickets that are damaged, defaced or invalid in any way will not permit the holder to be admitted to the event.

Attendees must be able to produce their ticket at any time during the event.

Players must only occupy their designated seats as directed by staff.

Restrictions On Entry

LAN Downunder management reserves the right to:

  • Refuse entry to any person;
  • Inspect any bags, clothing or other items at entry point or within the event at any time.

Ejection From Venue

A person may be liable for prosecution or a fine or may be ejected from the event where that person:

  • Uses foul or abusive language or makes racial or threatening remarks or gestures;
  • Is deemed by event management to be displaying offensive, disorderly or unlawful behaviour;
  • Enters the event or other restricted internal area without proper authorisation; or
  • Fails to comply with these conditions of entry or a lawful request from event staff.
  • No ticket refund will be paid to any person who is ejected from the event.

Other Conditions

  • Persons under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times within the venue.
  • By entering the event, patrons agree for their image, likeness or voice to used as part of any recording of the event.
  • Attendees enter the event at the own risk: LAN Downunder, CappingTV and the Venue has no liability whatsoever for any damaged, lost or stolen property nor for any other loss, damage or injury suffered by any patron, whether in contract, tort or statutory liability to the full extent permitted by law.
  • Attendees must follow directions given by LDU or venue staff members. Failure to do so may result in removal from the event.

General Admission Specific Conditions

The LAN Downunder staff are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.

Staff are here to provide assistance and to enhance your opportunity to have a positive experience. 

Patrons are advised to take note of the following guidelines prior to accessing the event area.

  • Keep hydrated.
  • Take breaks throughout the day – move from crowded areas to re-hydrate.
  • Keep an eye on other patrons and assist them or alert staff where possible.
  • If you require assistance, speak to staff with staff lanyards.
  • First Aid assistance is available from the venue front desk.
  • Overcrowding and blocking pathways is prohibited. Patrons doing this may be asked to leave the event.

COVID 19 Specific Conditions

  • You agree to comply with all Government directions, order and regulations relevant to the LAN Downunder at the times of the event. This including not attending the event if, at that time, you are subject to a requirement imposed by law to self-isolate or otherwise not attend events.
  • All attendees must commit to stopping the spread of COVID-19 and must comply with all government directions, orders and regulations relating to attending events.
  • When attending the LAN Downunder, you agree to assume all risks associated with COVID-19.

Equipment regulations

All equipment provided by the Venue is hired out to players ONLY for the duration of the event. Any attendee that wishes to use equipment outside of these hours, must pay the standard hourly rates of the venue.

Computers are only to be used by attendees who have purchased player tickets. Players who have purchased a spectator ticket, do not have authorisation to use any computers assigned to the LAN Downunder. Players are only to use computers that they have been assigned, unless directed by a staff member. 

Equipment used by players must be returned in the same condition at the conclusion of the event as it was received. Any equipment provided in poor condition must be reported immediately to LAN staff members. Any damages to venue equipment must be repaid by the attendee involved, LAN Downunder will not be paying damages caused by attendees.

All production equipment is to only be handled by LAN Downunder staff. All attendees are strictly prohibited from interfering with any production equipment, or entering production/staff only areas. Failure to follow these directions may result in removal from the event. Any damages as a result of not following these directions must be repaid by the attendee involved.
