It’s been a decent time since we’ve last made an announcement. We’re working hard behind the scenes to prepare for July!
One thing we’ve been discussing is the current COVID-19 situation. While not as prominent in Australia we still need to take precautions to ensure the wellbeing of all players, spectators and staff.
At this stage the event is going ahead. There will be additional safety measures on-site, including hand sanitiser stations and regular cleaning of computer peripherals. Any players or spectators who are intending to travel internationally less than 14 days from LAN should isolate themselves and not come to the event. We will make an announcement here if anything changes.

In light of recent events, including the newly enforced lockdowns from the Government of Victoria, CappingTV is cancelling The LAN Downunder 2020. With the COVID-19 situation still unfolding, and Genesis Internet Cafe having just been forced to temporarily close, we cannot continue to plan for the event in July. In the meantime, we are planning an alternative online event to run on the same or similar dates.
We are hoping everyone is staying safe during this pandemic, and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2021!
