We’re thrilled to announce another exciting LAN event this year, and it’s happening right in the heart of Melbourne, Victoria! Mark your calendars for a jam-packed weekend on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of July 2023, when 12 teams from across the region will compete for a $2,000 AUD prize pool, thanks to our amazing sponsor marketplace.tf.
Based on the incredible response from the community polls, we’ve heard you loud and clear – you wanted another LAN in Melbourne, and we’re delivering! Whether you’re assembling the ultimate team to take home the trophy, forming a relaxed crew to enjoy the atmosphere, or just excited to spectate and meet fellow TF2 fans, LAN Downunder has something for everyone!
Tournament Format
This year’s competition will follow the ozfortress Season 37 ruleset, whitelist, and maps, providing a familiar but competitive environment for players.
Venue
The LAN Downunder 2023 will take place at the GIC Arena, located at 15 Sutherland St, Melbourne VIC 3000. It’s the perfect spot for an unforgettable weekend of Team Fortress 2 action!
Tickets & Registration
Registration for teams is now open via the ozfortress page, where the tournament will also be hosted. Due to limited PC availability and time constraints, a maximum of 12 teams will be able to compete. Don’t miss out – once you’ve signed up your team, be sure to purchase a Player Ticket to secure your spot. Players who don’t purchase a ticket by the sign-up deadline will be removed from the roster.
Each player will have access to:
- 1 PC and monitor
- Keyboard, mouse, and headset
Players are welcome to bring their own peripherals, though BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) is not available due to space and equipment limitations. Make sure to bring a USB with your HUD and config files for a quick setup. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to the venue’s Conditions of Entry.
Spectators
Spectator tickets are also required to ensure safe capacity limits in the venue. Spectators will have full access to all player floors and a dedicated viewing area of the broadcast. Unfortunately, tickets for LAN Downunder 2023 are SOLD OUT, but keep an eye out for livestreams and updates!
