The wait is over! Oceania’s premier Team Fortress 2 LAN event has returned, bigger and better than ever. Join us at the Alienware Arena for a weekend of intense competition, where rivalries are reignited, legends are forged, and the community comes together to celebrate the game we love.
VENUE
We’re incredibly excited to announce that this year’s LAN will be held at the Alienware Arena in Melbourne, the largest dedicated esports arena in Australia. This marks a major upgrade in venue, ensuring an unforgettable experience for both players and spectators.
After years of aiming to elevate the LAN, we’ve been given the opportunity to work with Fortress as part of their grassroots initiative. This partnership allows us to offer a bigger and better LAN, with enhanced amenities for everyone, without the added cost to spectators and players. While we’re still ironing out the finer details, rest assured this will be our best venue yet!
QUALIFIERS
With Alienware Arena doubling as an esports venue rather than a traditional internet café, we’ve had to make some tough choices regarding the tournament structure. The reduced capacity means a tighter qualification process, balancing both fairness and excitement for players and spectators.
We are thrilled to confirm that Witness Gaming, the reigning champions, and Struck Minds, last year’s runners-up, have secured their places in the 2024 LAN. However, six new challengers have emerged from intense online qualifiers, hungry to prove themselves. These teams have fought hard to earn their spot, and their performances are guaranteed to bring plenty of surprises.
If any invited team does not accept their spot, the next in line from the qualifiers will be invited.
SPECTATORS
This year, we’re going all out for spectators! With fewer teams competing, we’re committed to ensuring everyone has an incredible time. Expect more than just matches – we’ve got games, prizes, interviews, and more lined up. Plus, Fortress has food and drinks available on-site, adding to the overall experience (responsibly, of course!).
There’s never been a better time to be a spectator at LAN Downunder, and we can’t wait to celebrate the game with you all.
